Space Tortoise

Space Tortoise by Ross Montgomery and Illustrated by David Litchfield.

A wonderful picture book about a little tortoise journey to find some friends. The lonely tortoise lives in an old rusty bin in a playground. The little tortoise wonders where the other animals have gone, so he goes in search for them and an adventure begins.

One night the little tortoise looks up at the night sky and decides to journey up to space in search of the other animals. A wonderful adventure begins as the tortoise journeys to find the other animals.

One of our favourite picture books about friendship, adventure and welcoming strangers. With beautiful illustrations by David Litchfield.

The pages are full of depth and texture and warmth. Packed with rich and exciting illustrations and great character development. The pacing in this book keeps the viewer engaged and wanting to tun over to the next page. A jam packed adventure story full of warmth.

One of our favourite pages is the close up view of the clock tower 'rocket' with the tortoise siting one side and a mouse siting on the other. The striking close up of the clock tower creates a dynamic double page layout.

This picture book is beautifully written with warm and textured illustrations. A fun adventure story with  gentle and heart-warming characters.
